Genius Moments -- or Unlikely Partnerships?
Insights into Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Much of what we think we know about innovation is wrong.
MYTH: A lone inventor or genius, often somewhat eccentric, has an eureka moment of discovery after years of lonely toil in a lab—or in a garage.
REALITY: Innovation is a process of connection, building and rebuilding broad and diverse networks. It is about collaboration, recombining old ideas into something new and different— and bringing this work into the world. It’s about seeing into new areas of knowledge.
Join us for a provocative discussion with Cleveland Justis MBA 04 about how the Graduate School of Management and UC Davis are working to drive innovation and entrepreneurship into the culture of the university community.
Justis is the executive director of the Child Family Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, a Center of Excellence at the Graduate School of Management. A doctoral candidate at the university, Justis has deep experience in research, teaching and practice of innovation.
